What is Hardened Linux From Scratch?

Hardened Linux From Scratch (HLFS) is a program that provides step-by-step instructions for building your own custom Linux system compact and compiled entirely from source. Based on LFS, this project also incorporates parts of BLFS. The main differences of these projects is not merely the configuration issues inherent safety. And patching or replacing many of the packages used for added security.

 

Why would I want a system HLFS?

This book has been built to block known and unknown threats to security, including the toolchain core patch to prevent buffer overflows.
